Writing is a slog to uninterested
multitudes, but not to engrossed readers and writers. A lot are plodding and
wrestling with this matter–it’s a real pain in the neck. As much as they put the
same magnitude or more, it’s not just their cup of tea. It took me decades to
learn–and still learning.
But there’s no such
thing as “be half the writer you used to
be”–I find it irrelevant. Once an excellent writer, this person will always
be to the last. Thriving is the right
word to describe a writer’s metamorphosis–there’s a constant headway.
