I’ve got this sickness
for seven weeks–a twenty-four-hour battle of discomfort from abnormality. It has
been here, and for as long as I teach in this land. I’ve learned to welcome
this disturbing weirdness at this moment in time, but not forever. Thought I’m
the only one suffering.
Yesterday was so intense.
My students were also struck with Monday blues. They didn’t show up in class. I
wasn’t informed. Except at weekends, my classroom has never this quiet during
class hours–from daylight to nightfall–so bizarre. It was a blessing in
disguise after all–got a little rest.
