It’s not that I’m
tailor-made for this job–not an expert still–I learn and teach; I teach and
learn, but at least I’m familiar with the “IPA” symbols and
sounds. This helps me apprehend the complexity of this language in particular especially
to non-native speakers of English including me.
One day, just came up
with a decision that I’m going to follow a certain accent. Not denying it, I also
argued with intolerant speakers for being close-minded. They have to know that a
learner has a choice to make at the end of the day since both accents are
correct.
