Growing up, we didn’t really
celebrate Noel at home intentionally. But if we did, once or twice perhaps, it
was all for commercialization. And so I couldn’t actually relate to this famous
song “I’ll be home for Christmas”
because I often did the irony–was always gone home this time to celebrate the
season at a dear friend’s home.
I had done it since the
year dot except this one–it will be a complete silent night to predict. I’ve
already prepared myself for this miss–the absence of outward appearances–but the
true meaning is kept in my heart.
